1. I was raised to think I am short.

  57. Monk Parakeets live in my old town Norwalk, Connecticut. We don't know how they got here, errant pet stores/owners letting them loose because they are loud, an escape at an airport, either way they find life here quite tolerable and don't seem to be bothering native birds. I love their GREEN feathers flashing in a flurry of sound and flight. Over the weekend while taking a walk in a local cemetary we saw an open plastic bird cage with bird food spilled out over the ground- shame on whomever released this bird!
