Soy Wax is an environmentally friendly resist technique that is easy to learn and easy to clean up. Used with Procion MX dyes the possiblities are endless. Another variation of this same class is Soy Wax with Monoprint. ___________________________________________

Using freezer paper as a resist with paints, glues and foils can add depth and dimension to hand dyed or batik fabrics. This technique is easy to learn and will lend your fabrics a touch of mystery and intrigue. ______________________________________________
Using your artists' sketchbook as inspiration, we will explore how to transform an original sketch into a unique expression of art. Simple techniques like reverse machine appliqué, tulle overlay and surface embellishments will push your ideas into fully realized works of art. ______________________________________________
A pattern is supplied as we explore the techniques used to create these one of a kind purses. Techniques covered include machine embroidery, bobbin drawing, thread painting and embellishment. Basic sewing skills including the ability to set a zipper needed. |
