
This is some fabric I am making for two baby quilts that are on the agenda.
I am wanting to do them in the style of Gee's Bend Quilts seen here:

Something slightly off kilter, strong and more on the simple side. My colors will be much more vibrant than any of the quilts pictured in the above links. But hey, my name is Melanie.
This fabric was dyed, bleach discharged, overdyed and stencil/stamped upon. I got the technique from Colorquilts Studio.
The hands are from tracings I took of my two older nephews, one of the two quilts is for thier new brother. The other is for my cousins' son.
It seems that I won't actually be making quilts but quillows, which if you didn't know is waaaay better than a quilt.
