Thanks, music and thoughts!

Thanks for all the comments about the Doo. I have been thinking it through and would like an updated look but I think I am going to do it in two stages. I have been admiring long layers for a while now. One of my bosses has a great layered long hairstyle, with hair quite like mine. It gives her a bit of lift and fun strands when she puts it up. I think it would be good to cut it a bit above my shoulder blades first.
I would like to be brave and go the whole way, but I am a little hesitant. I do lean over and look down at work each day and need to keep my hair out of my eyes. I am also not a very detail oriented female, having just begun to plug my eyebrows at a scant thirty-five years of age!

Music...
My Man and I recently bought a set of Ipods for ourselves. Mine is pink and his is _ _ _ _ (can you guess?). I had wanted lime green but... it is a long story.
I have been happily listening to some great music at work; it is great to have a job where I can listen to music and audio books all-day-long!
I am now in love with Iron & Wine, I was introduced to them by Rachel. It is gently beautiful, with great lyrics.
The Decemberists, odd pop, reminiscent of the Smiths, David Bowie (in his Ziggy Stardust period) and Belle and Sebastian in a dark sort of way.
Calexico reminds me of the wind blown south western desert. Yum.
And I am now stuck on, addicted to, and thoroughly enjoying The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I never thought I would fall so deeply in love with a Stephen King story. I have to say I have never read or listened to any Stephen King books, I have seen some movies. I have held him at arms length (on principle) because he is a figurehead, he is too well known. I am proven wrong!
I can't and won't read or listen to horror; this book is more akin to fantasy and is in no way horror related.
Good stuff!

Art
Joanie has put the Second Miniature Art Textiles Exhibit! web site together and it looks fantastic! Check it out and support an artist!

When you've run out of Dark Tower to listen to (and there's a lot) _The Time Traveler's Wife_ and the Otori Trilogy were really great to listen to, if you have an audible sub. The narrators are great and the stories are gripping. (I also liked _The Stupidest Angel_ and _The Secret Life of Bees_)

I do a lot of really repetitive stuff at work that doesn't require much actual attention, so while I love having the time to think, sometimes it means overthinking and so I find the iPod's really handy to have at times all cued up with fun distraction.

Dark Tower Rules! And just think, you can read them all in one go, instead of waiting 20 years for the whole story like I did, hah! And ditto on the Time Traveler's Wife, that was my fave book of the year in 2004.
And hmmm, music that reminds you of the Smiths, I'll definitely check that out, they're one of my faves.
I think your haircut idea sounds good, take it slow and get used to it. Yes it will grow back but it takes a while!
