Can You Believe It?

CH6.jpg

I am making a pattern to teach art quilting! Does this seem like an oxymoron to you? This is the piece I am making a pattern for.

This is the first year that my guild has asked me to teach a Super Saturday workshop that requires the use of a sewing machine! This is BIG in my book! For the last two years I taught an embellishment class, which is alot of fun and I am quite good at it but I have been wanting to teach a class with a sewing machine!
The name of my class is Small Works, Big Impact! We will be making 4x6 inch works of art and I hope to get some embellishment techniques in there too!

I have never made a pattern before. All of the steps I use make total sense to me but that doesn't mean it will translate to the members of my class! I would love it if two interested people would read the pattern over and tell me if it makes sense to them. This is, of course, if I can figure out how to email it.

That's exciting! I really like the piece you'll be teaching too - those will be some lucky students!

Looks great! I'll volunteer to read your pattern and tell you if I can figure it out. Have fun teaching!

I'll give your instructions a test run, if you still need someone. Good luck with your class!

Hey Mel---is that edging just a plain ol' satinstitch or is it corded? Tired of binding and pillowcasing all my pieces!
