Last night my Man gave an awesome dinner party. I think it was our first official dinner party ever and it went really well. This was given as a birthday present and included a special gift(more on that later).
The night started with a keg of Virgil's Rootbeer and a game of Corquet; which because of the theme we call Croquito. Lets just say that another couple came out from behind and in one fell swoop swept the game. Usurpers!
The menu:
Goat milk yogurt gazpacho
Mango, papaya, banana, and coconut milk smoothie
Bean burritos with fresh corn and mango
Guacamole served with unsalted blue corn chips and salted white corn chips.
Flan
and of course, Sangria.
So you may see a theme, Mexican food.
My Man did so well! Having eatten but never made the gazpacho made a really well balanced version with interesting flavors and spicing. He is the smoothie king of the universe- 'nough said. The burritos and guacamole went really well togther.
Now the flan? He found a recipe and went for it, feet first. He even flipped it onto a serving dish beautifully! I was amazed at the whole layout!

Day made party favors; Frida eyebrows! Who'da thought! Day, of course!
From left to right; Sue, Peter, Alison, David, Kevin, James and Day.

Somewhere in the night, the Frida eyebrows became Salvatore Dali mustaches.
I have to say that I think I look quite dashing as a man! Perhaps I should take a leaf from Frida's book, bind my breasts and photograph myself as a man.
and here is the feather in my cap- for the entire night. The thing that made me cry, that I am proud beyond belief about:

My shy Man played a song that he has been working on for me, as a gift, in front of all of our friends. He is my hero and the best husband and life mate in the whole universe.
Thanks to everyone for coming and making it such a fabu night!!! I loved every minute.
sounds like an amazing party! happy birthday, mama!
