All Sortsa Places...

In this post I am going to be as discombobulated as I am feeling right now.

The_Man.jpg

The man is finished. I thought I would be doing alot more work on him and then my impetus fizzled, he grew on me and I bound his edges! He is my first completed male work of art!

The_ManDetail.jpg

A few pieces of art ago, I asked mySelf very nicely, to please stop beading pieces so intensely. I told mySelf that this was slowing down my ability to put artwork out into the world.

The_ManDetail2.jpg

So then, I start quilting densely! Now I hear mySelf grumbling to let mySelf be. I am obviously a micro oriented person, why fight it, right?
So. Now. Please know the color in the first photograph is the closest to reality. I will be adding him to my gallery as soon as I straighten one thing out. Maybe you guys/gals can help me on this one.
When my friends see this piece that call it No. 15 for obvious reasons. I don't want to name it No. 15. In my mind the number is there because it is.

So here is the Cat part of the post!

Arrow_friend.jpg

This is an abstract photo of Arrow! My! Cat! Pal! He loves to sit in my lap as I surf. He is a belly up sort of boy! Loves the belly rubbins.

Monk_Friend.jpg

And this is Monk, who doesn't feel well. He is going to the V-E-T tomorrow. Poor little guy has an infection in his mouth! Ouch. Prey to Bast that Monk gets better and soon.

I said I felt discombobulated.
Here are a few of my current blog/website crushes:
JuJu Loves Polka Dots it started with the pocket tutorial. The skirt and the red striped shirt did me in.
Wee Wonderfuls. I want one of her dolls and can't afford an 80$ doll right now! I think I am going to have to save up.
Whip Up. They are a style fulcrum of craftiness.
The Birdhouse Network has some nest cams set up! I feel super invasive looking into the home of birds but I can't resist either.
Natascha Rosenberg
She is very creative and fun!
Then thier are all of my tagged items over in the right hand toolbar...

Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes about my article!!! It makes me so happy to see my work on glossy pages. Now I want to write more articles! Get my book published, take over the world through quilting. MwaHaHaHa!

o my goodness. the first cat photo, i saw in reverse at first like it was a cat photoshoped to look like a cube!!

as for the title, i'm just brainstorming. i don't know much about the piece, so i don't know if any of these will work or relate, but since you asked. what came to mind was "boxed in" "inside-out" "the patient" "cellular" "o negative"

i think the quilting work is so cool. i wish i could do that!

have a great week!

Melly!!! I am so glad you have finished this fella, brilliant :-) I love the quilting, just in time to inspire me for my big dredger quilt.

I also love Hilary's dolls, though I had to stop reading those 'cute' crafty blogs because they were distracting me ... all of a sudden I wanted to start making lacy aprons and soft toys.

Cheers

PS. To me, your man looks like he is thinking really hard about something technical, maybe he's an architect, or mathematician or engineer. Like he is deep in a project or train of thought and can't see the big picture anymore (I've been there!). Not sure about a name though.... so I'm not much help.

Wow. Looks great!!! And that cat pic had me scratching my head. Hope Monk is feeling better very soon.

Melly- you MUST get the ring code for Surface Design onto your blog this week! I want your blog on the ring!!!! Your stuff must be shared!!

For those of you who don't know, the Man is BIG. spread your arms apart wide big and so wonderful in person.

Melly, I have been haunting http://www.owlcam.com/ for years but I have the real thing in the woods just behind my house all year.
