Um...Has my commenting system been broken? Would someone please comment? I think I fixed it...

I finished the Bluebird piece. It feels good to finish something.

Here is another detail of the machine quilting. It isn't easy to get good detail shots.
I like this piece. It is my first piece of any size (18x24") to have been started and finished since we got here. I would like to work on the man and have not been feeling inspired by him. I will try to get him under the needle today.
I have already said these things but will reiterate, I screen-printed the orange "x's" in dye, then resisted out the bird and painted the background. I then painted the bird in dye, acrylic paint and oil crayons. I did the floating bubbles in oil crayons too and freezerpaper screen-printed the tiny blue dots (off to the upper right) before quilting the piece.
I tried to leave a few comments last week and it would not work. I love, love, love this piece. I was trying to describe it to my husband. I'll have to force him over to the computer to get a look at it.

Wonderful bluebird - it looks like it has a secret it wants to tell. Thank you for explaining how you got the various layers. Love the new do. Cheers

I love seeing the close-up of your quilting.
GREAT JOB!
I've been hibernating from really participating on the internet for the last couple of weeks... I did mean to comment on your hair. I think it looks great! I've got a bob too... but my hair is wavy, so it doesn't hold that nice bob shape.
The bluebird piece is lovely. Thanks for reiterating the techniques you used. I really love the layering of colour and texture you have achieved.
Cheers Claire
