Hello all. I am excited about my new approach in creating challenges related to my book, Inspired To Quilt. I am not going to talk you through the process, or teach it, rather I will show you how I work and reference the pertinent pages in the book.
I will have a few links to supplies here on the blog and ask you to upload photos of your samples to the Inspired to Quilt FanPage, where we can also start a discussion and talk among ourselves about technique and approach.
Bear with me as I figure out how to use all of the technology effectively. You may like to subscribe to the Inspired To Quilt youtube channel, they will update you each time I upload a video (not too often-you won't be bombarded)
Supplies you might use:
Faux painting rubber comb
Tsukineko Sponge Daubers
Advantus TAPE CLEANING SWABS

Melly, I just received your book (along with Lyric Kinard's book) in the mail and I am thrilled! I fell in love with resist dyeing long ago and now I'm ready for it again, I hope. I threw out all my Procion dyes in a fit of insanity (that's as far as I can explain it) so I'll have to reorder a few, but I'm going to follow your videos and blog. thanks!
I wish I was as fast as you? Weeeeeeeee!
Stand by while I'll whip this out! Weeeeeeeee!
I saw Arrow made a cameo appearance! great monoprinting ideas, I especially love the ease of the newspaper and the string one...those two are new to me.
Fun!!! I too saw Arrow making a cameo, so adorable. Now I am going to slide around in my stocking feet in my 5x6 room and play. If you hear a loud crash, it means I hit the wall - oops!
too cool. wish I could work that fast! Are those the straight dye concentrates in the squeeze bottles? page 30 right?

Oh boy. I must have been channeling you today, Melly. I was in the studio playing with monoprinting. I'm back there tomorrow! Love LOVE the vid.
Fun! I love actually watching the process! BTW, the last two supplies links are not working.
Thanks for the video. I do believe I shall subscribe to your vids and go buy your book! I got here following a link from JaneVille's blog. I got a kick out of seeing you slide around in your socks and seeing your kitty come in.

What kind of surface is your table top that you are able to pour paint onto it and then it cleans up so well?
