I tried.

I created this post a few days ago and am just now uploading it.

Sort of.

I didn't want to be creative. I wanted to lounge, read, laze. August is going to be a busy month for me. But I got it into my head that I needed to embellish some t-shirts for my upcoming teaching gigs. I mean, you know?

So I hopped on the train, went shopping. (It is harder than you might think to find t-shirts. They are either sheer, deep necked, inappropriate to the task or they have polyester in them-which I get too hot to wear.) I did find two though.

And I came home and tried, once again, not to get dirty. I did read some. I lounged. Then I got busy.

Wow! It's gorgeous. Is that a black t-shirt and did you use your foam stamp technique? The detail that you get amazes me.

This is a fun foam stamp in a style that my friend Pat taught me. This is what I would call a nestling stamp. I think if you stay tuned this will be an article in a most favorite magazine of ours.

So, I'm trying to see how you got the print on the black tee - it looks like you stamped your design on a piece of fabric then stitched it to the tee. What kind of fabric did you print the pintail on - woven? I see some hand stitching, but did you use machine stitching too? It's lovely, and it shows up really well against the black tee. Very nice.

I stamped this Greater Scaup, (I am a bird nerd and I think this is #3 on the list of 20 birds in decline), on t shirt material-which I cut on the bias. I think cutting it on the bias helped keep the cloth from fraying. This was hand stitched only. No fusible or anything.

Beautiful! He is so handsome. When the mood to create strikes you just have to go with it no matter what. Good luck with your classes this month.

LOL! It's hard to keep a good woman down! And, yes, I know just how hard it is to find a REAL T-shirt. How can it be? They're supposed to be staples!

Geez! Some were so sheer! I like my girls and all, but they should not be revealed to such and extent! I am more modest than much of what is available out there.

and I saw said t-shirt in person and it and you are on my blog, if you want to link. Great idea, smart look and I'm going to copy you as soon as I get the chance!

I did link up in the newest post. Loved seeing you even if brief!

Did you use TAP?
I don't remember if I have seen you post whether you do or not.
Or, well, would you explain? ;D

No Tap. This is a nestled stamp and the technique will be described in a favorite magazine and talked up by the woman who taught me the technique. I will post when the mag comes out.

Love it, Melly! and I'm on the same lounge-and-get-busy schedule these days. Too darn hot to be super productive.
