I know. I went quiet. I am sorry! I am teaching, returning from teaching, preparing to teach and organizing a vacation for my Man and I. Fun, tiring, exciting, and wonderful, all at once. Last week, when we got back from teaching at Art Unraveled and then visiting our house in Flagstaff, I was beat. and I played all week long. But now I have to prepare and pack for Create Retreat, in Chicago.

I will have my laptop and plan to blog as I go. Pat and I will be road tripping. I will make sure to get a good photo like this one and then another, like this one.

In the meantime I prepare some class samples and step outs. All while listening to Joan of Arc.

Waaaaaaaa! You were here???? Waaaaaaaaaa!

That paper cutting is awesome! You know, I've been meaning to tell you that a while back I rediscovered your articles in some old issues of Quilting Arts Magazine (2006-2008), and my jaw just dropped, because I remembered that I really loved them when I read them, and even tried my hand at freezer paper "snowflake" cutting, but somehow they just ended up buried in the general messiness and scatterbrained-ness of my life. When your book came out and I decided to buy it, it never occurred to me that you were the same person who'd written those articles. So it was a really pleasant surprise to rediscover them. :)

Road trip? We haven't been on a road trip in years. I'm jealous!

Oh Annika! I am so glad you made the connection. I would like to work on the flow of the freezer paper cut out, but like the idea lots! I mean, who wouldn't like a dog-earred pirate skull? Perhaps you can try out another trick and show us your trials! I love that you are so bold.

Floyd- I went to redandruthies.com. Quite the site you have there. is it a place holder?

Wow - amazing paper cutting. This was something I never figured out as a child. Guess I will have to figure it out now!

Have a good road trip but try not to pull a gun on any police officers or drive off any cliffs! ;)

I remember you posting about a busy August. What fun it is to get lost in the rush of activity. Enjoy.

love the midge fly pix...thanks for taking care of chocolate for us all. ;D

Lisa: #11 Xacto! all the way.

I never really thought of you as a "midge" more of a pixie sprinkling her magic creative dust on us all. How I wish I could steal into a suitcase and go with you and Pat. Fun times ahead! xoxo
