I am really enjoying working on this wrap and blogging each day this month. My sense of time and my ability to apply myself to a task has changed, I love the internet, love reading blogs and checking in on facebook, but I need time to sew, to paint, to engage with myself. I need time for walks.
I have been partaking in all of these things in the last couple of days but I have also been sewing. It feels good.

I bought some new needles this weekend. I asked friends on facebook what their favorite needles are, and Deborah said, Jeana Kimbal. I am putting together an order. I have a weakness for buying hand sewing needles. I like new brands, type and uses. I bought some Clover Gold Eye Milliners, No. 3-9, and I like them. They are sturdy, long (they are milliners needles) and the eye is big enough for most of the flosses I am using right now. They are not a subtle needle. Good needles are truly good needles, these are worker bee needles.

I like how the stitches are piling up.
Think a few good thoughts for Arrow. He is a bit under the weather.

Sending warm wishes to Arrow. XO
Embroidering over the lace is a great idea. It looks beautiful.
I love what your have done with the lace! I am glad you are leading a balanced and blissful life right now. It's inspiring.
Happy New Year!
The jacket is looking beautiful.
I hope Arrow feels better soon. My puppy(now 10 years old) has been feeling a bit low the past while too.
It's always great to have balance in your life. Little sewing, little computer, little exercise, little time with the hubby, and lots of petting Arrow. ;) Sending healing thoughts and prayers for Arrow. It would be terrible for him to spend the New Years feeling poorly. Hope you have a wonderful evening and a fabulous 2012!
And btw - I FINALLY got the package off to you. I hope you will enjoy!
The lace is so beautiful with your stitching upon it. I love the teal color you used along the edge of the leaves.
Arrow, I hope you feel better soon. Bobcat and Annie are sending kitty healing thoughts your way.
Happy New Year, Melly, D, and Arrow.
xoxo
Love to Arrow and to you and David on the eve of something special. Every new day is something special, and I mean to remember that this year.
Hi! Melanie,
Love the embroidery you are doing on your wrap, what a joy it will be to wear when finished, the colour is yummy too.
Miss Melly, first off, healing thoughts and hugs to Arrow! My oldest, Double, has been recovering for several weeks now from a leg injury, and at first I didn't think he would make it. Kitties are very resilient, so I hope Arrow will soon be back to his normal self! Second, Happy New year to you, David and Arrow... I hope 2012 is a spectacular year for you all! And third, I love your jacket! It has taken on such a fabulous personality with all your stitching!
Be well and happy!
Hugs,
Judy
Simply beautiful. Sending you lots of love for the new year.
Hi, Melanie. Really like your lace embroidery. I find it interesting that you're using the milliner's needles. I discovered the no. 7 milliner's needle years ago and buy them by the package. I can't see why anyone would use a short needle...of course, when I lose one, the house goes on red alert--very dangerous!
best, nadia
